The Velvet Underground wrote about life as they knew it - the things going on around them, the beautiful and the ugly. The Velvet Underground is their third studio album, recorded in 1968 at TTG studios in Hollywood, California and released later in March 1969. This month witnesses the 50th anniversary of the Velvet Underground’s 1969 self-titled release. The band was notably managed by pop artist Andy Warhol for a short time from 1966 to 1967. The Velvet Underground was an American rock band from New York City consisting of singer Lou Reed, guitarist Sterling Morrison, and drummer Moe Tucker. ![]()
